It is the year 1999 and Karan Shergill (Hrithik Roshan) has been recently posted in the Siachen region of Kashmir, near the Indo-Pak border. As he bonds with his fellow officers and gets to know more about the region under their supervision, he reminisces about his previous life: how, as a good-for-nothing youngster, he had become a black sheep of their family, how he had took the entrance exam for Indian Military Academy purely out of a whim, how the harsh training had caused him to run away and return home, and how the decision had resulted into a breakup with his girlfriend Romila "Romi" Dutta (Preity Zinta) and how he had returned to the Academy, finished his training and emerged a winner. But there isn't much time left to dwell upon the past, as terrorists have crossed the Line Of Control and occupied a few key peaks to serve as attack points. The Indian Defense retaliates and thus begins Operation Vijay, a mission to reclaim the terrorist-captured points before it is too late. Karan is thrown amidst heated battle to capture an important peak, and he knows it very well that this might just be a great chance to serve his country and look the world in its face.

Koi… Mil Gaya , 2003

Ranjit Mehra and his wife Sonia live a middle-class life in rural India. Ranjit's passion is studying the heavenly bodies through various computers, telescopes, and communicators as he believes there is life beyond Earth. He continuously transmits the sound generated by the syllable "om" and hopes that someone somewhere will hear this and respond to it. One day he does get a response, and he hurries to share this with experts--only to be scoffed at. Humiliated at this, he returns home and that is when an earthquake occurs, destroying the house with all the equipment, seriously injuring a pregnant Sonia, and killing Ranjit. Due to her injuries, Sonia is able to deliver a baby boy, albeit with serious mental disabilities and strange physical tics, whom she names Rohit. Rohit does survive and grow up--only physically, since mentally he is a mere child. Complications arise when Rohit is taunted and made fun of in school, and he claims that he is hiding an alien in his storage shed. Is Rohit making all this up with an overly active childish imagination? For who can believe a developmentally disabled individual having hallucinations about aliens and spaceships?

Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon , 2003

Roopa (Tanaaz Currim) from the U.S., the elder married daughter of Satyaprakash (Pankaj Kapur) and Susheela (Himani Shivpuri) has a marriage proposal for her younger sister Sanjana (Kareena Kapoor), that being Prem Kumar (Abishek Bachchan). She emails her dad that Prem is on his way to see Sanjana. So her dad goes to the airport to receive Prem, the bring him home, which he does. He and his wife literally throw Sanjana into Prem's arms, and eventually both fall in love with each other. And then Roopa emails her dad that Prem could not make it earlier, but is on his way now. Things change radically against Prem, who is actually Prem Kishen Mathur (Hrithik Roshan) in his host's house, as they think he cheated them on purpose. When Sanjana comes to know of the real Prem, she does meet him, and finds out that both of them have a lot in common, a lot more that she had ever had in common with Prem Kishen.

Mujhse Dosti Karoge!, 2002

Three childhood friends namely Raj Khanna (Hrithik Roshan), Tina Kapoor (Kareena Kapoor), and Pooja Sahani (Rani Mukherjee) live in beautiful Simla, India together with their respective families. One day Raj's dad (Kiran Kumar) decides to relocate to Great Britain with his wife (Smita Jaykar). Raj wants to stay in touch with Tina, but Tina has her mind somewhere else but reluctantly agrees. When Raj starts corresponding, initially by snail mail, and then subsequently by electronic mail, Tina asks Pooja to respond; and Pooja does so. Fifteen years go by, and Raj decides to come to Simla for a visit and see how Tina has turned out to be. He is already in love with Tina without even seeing her. When he arrives, he instantly falls for Tina, and eventually proposes marriage to her, which she accepts. Their parents rejoice, and both Tina and Raj get engaged. Raj returns to Great Britain. Pooja too goes there, and both meet. Raj eventually realizes that he had been corresponding with Pooja, and he realizes that Pooja is his true love. Pooja also confesses her true feelings for Raj. Both decide to return to Simla and tell Tina and her family this news. Unfortunately, when they return to Simla, circumstances force them to keep their silence, and Raj stays engaged to Tina, but encourages a heart-broken Pooja to find another life-partner.

Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, 2002

Romantic Esha calls up FM Radio's DJ, Bingo, to find out the identity of a young man, who had called during his program. While Bingo is unable to identify him, the young man, Rahul Sharma, does call, and Bingo arranges a meeting between the two of them. Esha is unable to keep this appointment, but Rahul does so. Esha then decides to correspond with him via a post box numbered address, without disclosing her name, to which Rahul agrees, and he also arranges for a numbered postal address, and does not disclose his identity. Rahul has a close friend named Akshaye, who is a womanizer. Akshaye's mom asks Rahul to check out a girl for Akshaye, and Rahul does so. Rahul goes to check this young lady, and meets Esha Malhotra. Rahul informs Akshaye that he finds Esha suitable for him, and subsequently Akshaye meets with Esha, and soon marriage preparations are underway. It is then Rahul finds out that the girl he has been corresponding with is Esha, but will not come between his friend's happiness and to-be bride.

Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage, 2002

Brought up in a very tight, conservative household, Sapna Dholakia (Amisha Patel) is terrified to experience the freedom of falling in love with Rohit (Hrithik Roshan), fearing the upheaval it will cause in her family, namely her dad, Pratap Dholakia (Kiran Kumar), who has plans for Sapna to marry Rishabh Patel, the son of a friend; then there is her brother, Raman Dholakia (Mukesh Tiwari), who follows in the footsteps of his dad, and will prevent Sapna from marrying Rohit. But Rohit is determined to marry Sapna and no one else, come what may, and this is met with resistance from the Dholakia clan, who first severely beat Sapna, and then imprison her in her room; and then lure Rohit to a secluded spot and proceed to beat him within every inch of his life, and there is no one who can even dare to think to intervene and invite the wrath of the Dholakia family.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, 2001

Yashvardhan Raichand lives a very wealthy lifestyle along with his wife, Nandini, and two sons, Rahul and Rohan. While Rahul has been adopted, Yashvardhan and Nandini treat him as their own. When their sons mature, they start to look for suitable brides for Rahul, and decide to get him married to a young woman named Naina. When Rahul is told about this, he tells them that he loves another woman by the name of Anjali Sharma. Yashvardhan decides to meet with the Sharma family, and finds out that they are middle-classed, unsophisticated, and will not be able to it into his family circle, as a result he refuses to permit Rahul to marry Anjali. A defiant Rahul decides to leave, gets married to Anjali, without his foster parents blessings, and re-locates to London, England, where Anjali's unmarried sister, Pooja, also lives. Rohan, who was studying in a hostel, returns home to find that Rahul is no longer living with them, and he also discovers that while outwardly his dad is not interested in seeing Rahul get back, Nandini wants the family back all together for all happy and sad moments. Rohan also misses Rahul a lot, and decides to travel to London in order to try and get Rahul to return home. Yashvardhan, is unable to prevent this, and as a result Rohan does travel to London, meets with Rahul, Anjali, and Pooja. The question remains will the hurt and sorrow that Rahul experienced with his foster parents be erased and enable the family to be reunited, or will Rahul forget about the past, and continue to live his life without getting back to his roots and the family who brought him up, leaving Rohan to return alone?

Yaadein, 2001

Raj Singh Puri is best friends with L.K. Malhotra who is in turn younger brother to J.K. Malhotra. The brothers are business tycoons and Raj works in their company. Raj is father to three young daughters, the first one gets married through arrangement but the second one marries her lover. After a few weeks at her in-laws, the second daughter returns home asking for divorce. After this Raj and her last daughter become strictly against love and relationships. All this changes when Isha (the third daughter) falls in love with the heir to the Malhotra empire, Ronit, L.K. Malhotra's son. The ask for Raj's blessing but he bluntly refuses and Isha understandingly shuns Ronit and Raj arranges for Ronit to be married to the daughter of another tycoon. Ronit is unhappy and makes Raj realize that his fiancé's family is not right for them and Raj approaches the Malhotras to break off the engagement however J.K. Malhotra shuns him by calling him poor and small. The other Malhotras join forces to make J.K. to realize his mistake and Ronit is finally married to Isha.

Raj Singh Puri has a very wealthy friend in Lalit Kumar Malhotra, and his wife, Nalini. After the passing away of his wife, Shalini, Raj has become more dependent on the Malhotras, and they have offered him support and solace in his time of need. Raj has also won over the affections of their son, Ronit Malhotra. When Ronit meets with Raj's daughter, Isha, both are attracted to each other and fall in love. They want to surprise Ronit's parents and Raj, and they accordingly decide to share this news with Raj, only to find out that Raj has been actively involved in trying to get Ronit married to Monishka Rai, the daughter of a very wealthy industrialist, who the Malhotras would like to have a business merger with.

Mission Kashmir, 2000

Malik Ul Khan has issued a fatwa (holy order) instructing all Kashmiri residents that they are not to provide any support of any kind of SSP Inayat Khan and his soldiers. When Inayat's son is injured in a domestic accident, a doctor breaks the rules, but is unable to save Irfan. The doctor and all of his family are brutally and mercilessly hunted down and killed by terrorists. When Inayat entraps Malik, there is a shoot-out, and as a result, Malik and several other innocent by-standers are killed. One of the survivors is young Altaaf, who watched his entire family being killed by a masked Indian soldier. Inayat takes this child to live with him and his Hindu wife, Neelima. Years later, Altaaf has grown up calling Neelima and Inayat "Ammi and Abba"., and has found out that the masked soldier was none other than Inayat himself. Altaaf breaks off his relationship and re-locates to Kashmir and joins with a group of terrorist who want an independent Kashmir. When the Indian Prime Minister decides to visit the region, Altaaf and his group are ready to carry out their deadly strike and destabilize the region and country. When Inayat attempts to take this assignment, his superiors refuse to accede to his request. It is then that Inayat finds out that the target of the terrorists is not the Indian Prime Minister, but two places of worship - Hindu and Islamic - and that the agenda of the terrorists is to shoot a missile at each of these holy places, so that the Hindus would blame the Muslims and vice versa, thus leading to riots and virtually unstoppable bloodshed.

Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai ,2000

Orphaned at an early age, both Rohit (Hrithik Roshan) and his younger brother, Amit (Abhishek Sharma) struggle to live, by playing music and songs together with their friend, Tony (Vrajesh Hirjee). Rohit also works as a salesman for motor vehicles, and sells a car to Mr. Saxena (Anupam Kher), who presents it to his daughter, Sonia (Amisha Patel). Both Sonia and Rohit come to know, and are attracted to each other. Their attraction turns to love when their cruise ship abandons them on a deserted island. Upon return to civilization, Rohit meets with an accident and is killed. Sonia and Amit are devastated. Sonia goes abroad, and meets with Raj Chopra (also Hrithik Roshan) and both are attracted to each other. Raj accompanies Sonia back to India, and upon landing at the airport, he is shot at. That's when both come to know that Rohit's death was not an accident, and the assailants who killed Rohit are now after Raj also.
